Michael Bloomfield is the Executive Vice-President and Managing Director of The Mellman Group.  Named “Pollster of the Year” three times by the American Association of Political Consultants, The Mellman Group has helped win some of the toughest races of the last thirty years, including over fifty senate and gubernatorial races and over one hundred congressional contests.  Last year The Mellman Group helped Tony Evers win a multi-candidate primary for governor and then go on to defeat Scott Walker in Wisconsin in a race The Washington Post called “potentially the greatest victory in the midterms”.

In Maryland, The Mellman Group has worked with Congressman Steny Hoyer and the Elijah Cummings, Attorney General Doug Gansler and the late Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.   They also helped win the most expensive initiative fight in state history passing Question 7 on gaming and education – which was recognized by the AAPC as the best initiative campaign in the nation.

Michael has worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senators Kennedy, Metzenbaum and Riegle.  Capitol Hill’s newspaper, Roll Call, selected him as one of the fifty most influential people in working behind the scenes in Washington.
